    Paris

After breakfast at your hotel, meet with your local guide. Today is all about discovering Paris on a full-day city sightseeing tour.

Paris was born on the Ile de la Cite, where the Notre Dame Cathedral now stands. After your visit to the Cathedral, take a quick look at the Sainte Chapelle just across the island and to the nearby Place de la Bastille, where the infamous prison once stood. Medieval Paris can still be found in the enchanting Marais with narrow cobbled streets and the elegant 17th century Place des Vosges, the Maison Victor Hugo or the Synagogue des Tournelles.

Nearby you may visit the Picasso National Museum, depicting 5000 art works from the famous painter. In the afternoon visit the Musee d'Orsay, an eclectic exhibit and vast impressionist collection.

Your day will take you to the stunning Palace of Versailles, the official residence of the Kings of France from 1682 until 1790. It began as a hunting lodge, but it was only during the reign of King Louis XVI that it became the vast palace which we admire today.

Versailles is divided into 4 different spaces - The Palace, the garden, the Grand Trianon and Marie Antoinette's Estate. During the summer, the Palace' fountains offer an animated water show with music. Return to Paris in the afternoon.
