Today you will be driven across the Bayern countryside to visit the grandiose fairy-tale castle of Neuschwanstein, inspired by legends and themes from the operas of Richard Wagner. The view from the castle courtyard is stunning!

    Oktoberfest
Today the Oktoberfest begins and Munich will be buzzing with activity.

Early morning the tent patrons will start arriving to the city on horse drawn coaches and cart, carrying the beer barrels. Around 12 PM the festival starts with the tapping of the first Oktoberfest-beer-barrel by the Mayor in the Schottenhamel Tent. Tents will start quickly to fill for a hectic 2 weeks of beer drinking and Eisbein eating.

If you prefer a quieter day, your guide can take you on a walking tour of the city. Visit one of the most famous food markets in Germany - Viktualien Market, explore the city center, the meander of narrow streets and traditional stores around the medieval gate of the city and visit the Residenz. Then proceed to the Palace of Nymphenburg, an impressive Baroque palace, birthplace of King Ludwig II.
